Locally, there were a handful of us running 3.1 miles at the Run for Young on Sunday afternoon in downtown. The weather was warm (for January), but a great time was had by all, even if some of us didn't have good times at all.
Another great weekend coming up with the Little River Trail Run on Saturday in Durham!

The time around the New Year is one of my favorites. Each new year reminds us to think big, dream, and set our sights on something bigger or different. A lot of people use this as a means of renewal in their efforts to increase their physical health, plan grand adventures, end bad habits, begin good habits. There's something about the idea of renewal, or a second chance, that makes me happy.
So, what about you? What are your goals and resolutions? Do you want to run a marathon this year? Run a half-marathon? Set a PR? Pay off debt? Quit a bad habit? Become a morning runner? Run more miles than ever before? Read more books? Meet new people? Travel to a new place?
I hope each and every one of you has taken the opportunity, over the last few weeks, to think about the possibilities that the new year brings and has charted your course accordingly. Further, I hope you continue to pursue your goals and stick to your resolutions throughout 2013 and make it the best year yet!
