I missed a couple race results from earlier this winter...Perry Boseman finished 4th in his age group at the N. Myrtle Beach 15k in January and 2nd in his age group at the Cary Long Course Duathlon in Cary two weekends ago, while his son Alex was 3rd overall at the N. Myrtle Beach 15k. Great racing, Bosemans!
Much farther down south, Kellie ran a fast time at the New Orleans marathon on February 24th.
I witnessed, with my own eyes, Jack D. and John A. running side-by-side in Myrtle Beach at the marathon on February 16th, but alas, they were too fast for my camera. Great job guys!

Great job group!

Race Win ALERT
While Bobby Mack was racing in a Team Reebok singlet at the USATF Cross Country Championships in St. Louis (or thereabouts), our very own Tyler Pake won the Cocoa 5k in Morehead City on Saturday, besting the field with a swift sub 18 minute clocking. See his post @ Tyler Pake Running.

Local and far away results
Dawn got the racing started off right this year. She headed down to Orlando and ran the "Dopey Challenge" at Disney with a 5k Friday evening, a half marathon on Saturday, then a full marathon on Sunday! Man, that's a lot of bling!
Next, (and I totally stole this picture from facebook) Joey set a new 50 mile PR, racing out in Las Vegas. I hear he even won a few bucks!
Locally, there were a handful of us running 3.1 miles at the Run for Young on Sunday afternoon in downtown. The weather was warm (for January), but a great time was had by all, even if some of us didn't have good times at all.
Another great weekend coming up with the Little River Trail Run on Saturday in Durham!

New Year
The time around the New Year is one of my favorites. Each new year reminds us to think big, dream, and set our sights on something bigger or different. A lot of people use this as a means of renewal in their efforts to increase their physical health, plan grand adventures, end bad habits, begin good habits. There's something about the idea of renewal, or a second chance, that makes me happy.
So, what about you? What are your goals and resolutions? Do you want to run a marathon this year? Run a half-marathon? Set a PR? Pay off debt? Quit a bad habit? Become a morning runner? Run more miles than ever before? Read more books? Meet new people? Travel to a new place?
I hope each and every one of you has taken the opportunity, over the last few weeks, to think about the possibilities that the new year brings and has charted your course accordingly. Further, I hope you continue to pursue your goals and stick to your resolutions throughout 2013 and make it the best year yet!
